The National Consultative Commission on Human Rights published an opinion in June 2025, highlighting the government’s practices of dissolving and legally harassing civil society organizations (CSOs), and the contract of republican engagement, which creates structural financial challenges for civil society. Further episodes of police violence have since been reported, particularly against the movement in solidarity with Palestine and the Block Everything protests.
