European Civic Forum and other 26 organisations wrote to Vice-President of the European Commission Věra Jourová in regards to the EU legislation to deter Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs).
SLAPPs are used by corporations, rich and powerful entities to silence those who oppose them. Among those hit by SLAPPs, we not only see journalists, but also activists, local communities, NGOs and others. This is why, in the letter, we demand a more inclusive legislation which protects everyone who is hit by SLAPPs. Download the letter here.
