On Sunday 23 February, more than two thousands people marched to the Parliament against the refusal of the Hungarian government to pay compensation for Roma children who were segregated and denied education in the east of the country. Among the protesters, Roma families and civil society groups.
PM Orban suggested, instead of obeying the court ruling which stated compensation for the families, that the state should provide training for the children.
Orban’s declaration in averting courts ruling is once more in line with the erosion of rule of law.
