At the end of July, the parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina voted on a draft law on citizen initiatives and the protection of citizens. The law did not pass due to a low turnout of MPs, but it is scheduled to be voted on again before the end of 2025. The legal proposal initiated by the Aarhus Center in BiH aims to harmonise the framework for citizen participation in decision-making processes, making it simpler for citizens to initiate policy proposals and government actions. The bill also includes measures specifically dedicated to countering SLAPPs.
